Shawn Vanzant is a really good person and player, who always put team above self. He’s a big reason why we won 117 games over the past four years. As his role developed from an explosive scorer off the bench his first three years to a go-to guy his senior year, the one constant was that he positively affected our team’s chances of winning. He’s an elite defender, on and off the ball- he defends power guards who drive the ball, and can stay with any shooter running off a screen. Offensively, he can shoot off screening actions, is very good using ball screens, and can create his own shot against the best defenders. He’s a great teammate and a winner in every sense of the word.
